	A large part of student activity in vtss 160 consists
of writing and discussing small (one to three page) opinion papers
on topics discussed in class.  Here are some criteria to be
observed in writing them.
	
1. If the subject is controversial, sources on two sides should
be cited.

2. Where numbers are relevant and obtainable, they should be
given.

3. When an invention is discussed, its importance should be
evaluated.

4. How sure are you of the effects of what you advocate?  What
additional facts would be required to be more sure?  How could
they be obtained.
